3 Congratulations on your decision to explore study options for 2010 with TAFE NSW -- Western Sydney Institute! This Course and Career Guide is a good place to start. It gives you: • general information about applying and enrolling with us • a brief description of courses ofered at our colleges • information about support services we ofer to help you succeed. Want a career and not just a job? We have developed a Career Pathways brochure which focuses on strategies for planning your future career direction. There's a list of helpful websites and vocational pathways, which show you how to progress towards your career goals. You can find the Career Pathways brochure on our website, wsi.tafensw.edu.au or call 131 870 for a copy. After reading this Guide, make sure you also read the Course Information Leaflet for the course you are interested in. The Course Information Leaflet provides details about what you will learn in the course, the qualification or award you will gain, prerequisites for studying and other useful information. Teachers will go through the enrolment prerequisites, outline course outcomes, skills, knowledge and time commitment you need to succeed in your learning and talk to you about recognition of your previous skills, experience or studies. Attending these sessions will help to ensure you enrol in the course that is right for you. Information Session dates and times are available on the Course Information Leaflet for the course, or contact the college. Some courses have specific entry requirements. If you do not meet these requirements, you may be considered for Special Admission if you have the equivalent skills and knowledge gained from work or other life experiences. How do I get started?
