It is an industry constantly evolving through changes in fashion trends and the development of new products, innovative techniques and highly sophisticated technology. Millions of dollars are spent each year on scientific research into anti-ageing and rejuvenating skincare. The beauty industry has also begun to work closely with other health and medical practitioners in the care of skin and the development of total health care concepts such as nutrition and lifestyle. Certificate IV in (NRT) Aromatherapy Course No 182 74 Training Pkg Health National Code HLT42707 Duration Up to 2 years part-time Location Blue Mountains For people who want the skills to work safely, ethically and independently as an aromatherapist. You are not eligible to take out public liability or professional indemnity insurance as a practitioner until you are at least 18 years. Entry requirements: NSW School Certificate or equivalent. The small business units focus on the hairdressing/beauty industries and are designed for mature industry personnel. Entry requirements: There are no formal educational requirements. Entry requirements: There are no formal educational requirements. The small business units have been contextualised for the hairdressing/beauty industries and are designed for mature industry personnel. Work in or experience with salon management practices is assumed. Career opportunity: Beauty Salon Operator. Certificate IV (NRT) Beauty Therapy (Non Trade Pathway) Course No 17403 Training Pkg Beauty National Code WRB40105 Duration 1 year part-time Location Blue Mountains, Mount Druitt TAFE PLUS fee applies Enables you to develop the first line management skills of those working in the Beauty industry. It applies to those who are co-ordinating or managing the services within a small beauty salon, or a section or department within a larger store. The beauty specialist at this level would provide services, including lash and brow treatments, facial treatments, body treatments and make-up application. Entry requirements: There are no formal educational requirements. Career opportunity: Beauty Therapist. Giuliana Welch Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy Giuliana always had an interest in beauty therapy and started working at a beauty salon in the afternoons after school when she was fifteen. She began her TAFE studies when she was in Year 11, undertaking TVET courses during Year 11 and 12, as well taking additional TAFE courses in the evenings. After finishing Year 12, she studied full-time at TAFE to gain her Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy. Giuliana said she had a fantastic time at TAFE and the teachers were great. She is working full-time at a salon in Katoomba and hopes to embark on her Diploma next year. Giuliana was presented with the Hairdressing and Beauty Student of the Year at the 2009 TAFE NSW -- Western Sydney Institute Student Excellence Awards. 60 SECONDS WITH...
