For more information, visit wsi.tafensw.edu.au/wsiplus Key: Application required WSI PLUS fee applies International Student Code Certificate III in (NRT) Home and Community Care Course No: 18169 National Code: CHC30308 Duration: 1 year part-time, 18 weeks full-time Location: The Hills (Castle Hill) Description: Enables you to work in client homes and other community settings under regular supervision within clearly defined organisational guidelines and service plans. You will be able to carry out activities to maintain personal care and/or other activities of living for people in their own homes or in other community settings and carry out activities related to an individualised plan. People in these roles report directly to a supervisor and are not responsible for other workers. You will be required to submit a Prohibited Employment Declaration enabling you to take part in work based or practical activities and a Police check will be required prior to undergoing work placement with the aged. Entry Requirements: NSW School Certificate or equivalent. Statement of Attainment Identify & Respond to Children and Young People at Risk Course No: 19586 Duration: 15 hours Location: Nirimba Description: This course is for people who are mandated or required to report significant risk of harm to children and young people. Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements. Career Opportunities: Child Care Worker/Assistant. WSI PLUS fees apply Certificate IV in (NRT) Leisure and Health Course No: 18180 National Code: CHC40608 Duration: 1 year part-time Location: The Hills (Castle Hill) Description: For people who are employed in aged care or disability work, or who have relevant prior experience. This enables you to work in residential facilities and/or in community agencies and day centres and work under professional supervision within defined organisation guidelines or as sole practitioners. You may assist with design, implementation and evaluation of health and leisure activities and programs for clients in one or more sector areas and/ or be responsible for other workers. This qualification does not qualify you to provide personal care services to clients. Please contact the college as you may need to complete an Expression of Interest. You will be required to submit a Prohibited Employment Declaration enabling you to take part in work based or practical activities and a Police check will be required prior to undergoing work placement with the aged. Entry Requirements: NSW School Certificate or equivalent. Relevant experience may also be considered. Diploma of (NRT) Leisure and Health Course No: 18181 National Code: CHC50508 Duration: 1.5 years part-time Flexible Location: The Hills (Castle Hill) Description: Enables you to design, implement and evaluate a range of leisure services for individual clients or groups of clients with special needs under minimal supervision in residential facilities, community agencies day centres, and/or acute care settings or as a sole practitioner. You may be responsible for other workers. You will be required to submit a Prohibited Employment Declaration enabling you to take part in work based or practical activities and a Police check will be required prior to undergoing work placement with the aged. Entry Requirements: NSW HSC or equivalent and units of competency. Refer to the Course Information Leaflet for pre-requisite units. Certificate IV in (NRT) Massage Therapy Practice Application Required -- see page 6 Course No: 18276 National Code: HLT40307 Duration: Up to 2 part-time Location: Blue Mountains Description: This qualification provides you with the skills and knowledge to work as a massage therapist who provides therapeutic relaxation massage. The course provides skills in basic health assessment and treatment. Graduates can work in a variety of settings, such as, private practice, aged care facilities or spa facilities. Knowledge includes the chemical, biological and biophysical aspects of massage, taught within the philosophies and principles of complementary therapies to enable you to work safely and ethically with your clients.
