7 Top facilities put customers first In 2011, WSI developed and added some new facilities to ensure that students are being trained using equipment which is up-to-date and comparable with the highest industry standards. • Blue Mountains College opened new Beauty and Complementary Health facilities at its Katoomba campus. • create training restaurant, the fine dining training restaurant at Mount Druitt College was launched, giving tourism and hospitality students the opportunity to hone their skills within a professionally simulated restaurant environment. • Nepean and Blacktown Colleges had upgrades to their IT and renewable energy facilities as well as other refurbishments under the Australian government’s Better TAFE facilities initiative. • A $1.2 million Marine Bridge Simulator was jointly purchased with TAFE NSW Sydney Institute to simulate a virtual environment for maritime students. • Two pre-release new Hyundai vehicles were donated to Blacktown College’s automotive section by Hyundai, providing students with technological currency and opportunities to practice their skills on current automotive technology and equipment. Here are some examples of projects and our progress in 2011 which aligned with our Customer First strategic direction.
